Eyeline match
This is when characters look in a certain direction and then the next cut will be a shot of what they see or who they are talking to.
Action match
This is a part of continuity editing where a shot where a shot of a character making an action which is followed by a cut to a shot of them doing the action.
Shot/Reverse shot
This is an editing pattern that cuts to the view in the opposite direction which is commonly used in dialogue when cutting from one character to another. This would be following a master shot to establish where the characters are standing.
Editing in the Doc Martin clip
There are serveral eyeline matches in this clip.
For example when there is the shot of Doc Martin looking dow which then cuts to a shot of the dog looking up at Doc Martin.
